Experience

See the magnificent Corroboree Billabong and Mary River wetlands from the comfort of one of our custom-built safari boats.

The 1.5 hour Safari Cruise with Wildlands is an experience not to be missed. You will discover a natural wonderland which is home to an abundance of crocodiles, native birdlife and various land mammals.

During the months April to October, passionate and knowledgeable guides will help you spot crocodiles (salties and freshies) in their own natural environment whilst steering through waterways lined with colourful flora. The banks are home to a myriad of wildlife including wallabies, buffalo, jabiru, sea eagles, kites, kingfishers, brolgas, and jacanas.

Live availability can be found by clicking on the BOOK NOW button. A park pass is not required as Corroboree Billabong is not located within a National Park.

Itinerary

15 minutes pre-departure – Arrive at Corroboree Billabong. We suggest you allow some time to stretch your legs and visit the bathroom before boarding as there are no toilet facilities on board.

Departure – The Safari Cruise departs from the Wildlands pontoon for a 1.5 hour cruise through Corroboree Billabong and the Mary River wetlands. Your experienced guides will take you through the winding corridors of Corroboree Billabong whose banks are bordered with thousands of lotus flowers. You will be able to see the vast Mary River wetlands system which serves as a breeding ground for some of the various bird species you may encounter on the tour such as the jabiru, sea eagles and elusive jacanas. Your guide will also know the favourite haunts of some of the big crocs that inhabit the billabong and will do their best to find as many as possible and get you close enough to snap plenty of good photos to share with your friends and family.

End of tour – The Safari Cruise will return to the Wildlands pontoon where you can return to Darwin or continue on your way to Kakadu National Park.
